Northern Illinois was the BCS Buster of 2012 and they lost their coach to a BCS school as a result. They return several starters including QB Jordan Lynch and should be a force in the MAC and have a great chance to crash the last year of the BCS again this season. The league should be competitive below Northern Illinois. Bowling Green, Ohio and Toledo should all strong contenders within the conference.
The MAC has some chances to knock off BCS schools early in the season. That can go a long way toward getting a team back into the BCS. We look forward to those November games that over the past few seasons have lit up the scoreboard.
