With College Basketball on a break over Christmas, we want to look ahead to the 2018 NCAA Tournament. We use ESPN’s Bracketology from Joe Lunardi as our bracket and make 2018 NCAA Tournament predictions.
First Four
The tournament starts with the First Four every year.
(11) SMU over Syracuse
(12) Boise St. over NC State
(16) Long Beach State over Arkansas-Pine Bluff
(16) New Orleans over North Carolina A&T
South Region
The South has Virginia as the #1 seed. The round of 64 goes to plan except for the upset Big Blue nation won’t like, Boise State eliminates Kentucky.
The top 4 seeds advance to the Sweet 16 of the 2018 NCAA Tournament as Virginia faces West Virginia and Michigan State vs. Cincinnati.
Michigan State as the two seed knocks out the top seed UVA to advance to the 2018 Final Four.
Midwest Region
The Midwest region has Purdue as the top seed and seems the most upsets of any region.
#4 Clemson is a first round casualty to #13 Louisiana. In the round of 32, #6 Miami knocks out Oklahoma and #7 St. Mary’s beats #2 Xavier. St. Mary’s would advance to the Elite 8 before falling to Purdue.
The Purdue Boilermakes advance to the 2018 Final Four.
West Region
The West sees a lot of blue as Kansas and Duke are the top 2 seeds.
The higher seeds advance through the first day of tournament action. Then Wichita St. and Creighton pull minor upsets to make the 2018 Sweet 16.
It comes down to the Jayhawks and Blue Devils for a spot in the Final Four.

East Region
The East holds pretty steady. Villanova is the top seed here.
Everything goes according to seeding except #11 Houston running to the Sweet 16.
The Regions top 2 seeds collide for a spot in the national semi-final.
Villanova eliminates Auburn to advance to the 2018 Final Four.
Final Four
The 2018 Final Four features two #1 and two #2 seeds.
In one semi-final, it’s Villanova vs. Duke. In the other, Big Ten foes Purdue and Michigan State battle for a spot in the national title game.
Championship Game
Purdue wins the 2018 NCAA Tournament over Villanova.
