NFL Season Win Totals

We’ve predicted the entire 2016 NFL season and have our best bets for NFL season wins.  See them below in order of confidence:

Baltimore Ravens – UNDER 8

It’s hard to see the Ravens having a winning season in 2016.  They’re top playmakers are a year older and they’re the third best team in their division.  We predict 5 wins again for the Ravens.

Cleveland Browns – UNDER 5.5

Going over here means you’re expecting the Browns to double their wins from 2015.  That’s just not going to happen.  They’re one of the league’s least talented teams and are unsure of their starting QB for week 1.

Carolina Panthers – OVER 10.5

The Panthers went 15-1 last season so they’re gonna slide back wins wise a little bit.  They’re still the class of the NFC South and have a manageable schedule.  We predict they’ll again have the NFL’s best record with 13 wins in 2016.

Denver Broncos – UNDER 9.5

The Broncos are the defending champs coming off a dominant defensive performance in Super Bowl 50.  Gone though are Peyton Manning and Brock Osweiler at QB.  The AFC West should be better making it harder to get wins in the division.  We see the Broncos as a 8-8 team in 2016.

Cincinnati Bengals – OVER 9.5

The Bengals won 12 last year and we expect a similar season in 2016.  They’ve still got a very talented roster and should be able to grab some easy wins in the division against Baltimore and Cleveland.  The Bengals will again win double digits this season.

College Football Season Win Totals

In our college football season win total picks, we give you one team from each of the Power 5 conferences.

ACC – Florida State OVER 9.5

It’s hard to see the Noles not winning double digits this season.  The season opener against Ole Miss will be challenging but other than that Clemson in Tallahassee game, it’s hard to see the ‘Noles not being double digit favorites the rest of the season.

Big 12 – Baylor UNDER 9.5

Baylor is talented.  If not for the offseason turmoil, I’d take the over here.  With a sudden coaching change and a black cloud hanging over the program, it’s hard to see this team only losing twice.

Big Ten – Indiana OVER 4.5

We have a much sunnier outlook for the Hoosier’s than Vegas does apparently.  We see Indiana cruising way past 4 wins this season.  Actually doubling that win total and going 8-4 in 2016.

Pac-12 – UCLA OVER 8.5

We like the Bruins to win the Pac-12.  The toughest part of the Pac-12 schedule is at home.  Despite a tough season opener at Texas A&M, the Bruins should be a double digit win team in 2016.

SEC – Mississippi State OVER 6.5

Dak Prescott’s career is over and many think that drops the Bulldogs down to fighting for a bowl birth.  We don’t see it that way.  Dan Mullen has built a program that can be competitive every season.  We like the schedule and see Mississippi State winning 9 games in 2016.

College Football Games of the Year ATS Picks

The Golden Nugget put out it’s 2016 Games of the Year.  We’ve analayzed the games and picked out the best point spread picks for the 2016 college football season.  Here they are in order of confidence:

5.  Alabama +1 at Tennessee

Rarely will you see Alabama as an underdog.  Pair that with it being a rivalry game and Nick Saban’s team will be ready to go.  This sets up as a similar situation to Alabama at Georgia last season which saw the Tide roll in to Athens and win 38-10.

4.  Iowa -1.5 against Nebraska

Nebraska’s bowl performance has a lot of people thinking they’re ready to jump up and compete in the Big Ten this season.  Iowa won the Big Ten West last season and should be very good again.  Hard to see them losing this one at home with a division title probably on the line.

3.  USC -3 at Arizona

These two should come in to the game off from different directions.  USC will head to Tucson off home games against ASU and Colorado.  U of A returns home after road games at UCLA and Utah.  Look for the Trojans to win on the road against a battered Wildcats team.

2.  Houston -2.5 against Louisville

It’s tough to go against the home team on Thursday night games.  This is Houston’s big chance to show the nation they can compete with the Power 5.  I look for them to be ready and beat Louisville by more than a fieldgoal.

1. Utah +4 against USC

This is one of those Friday night games that have proven to be difficult for road teams to win.  We project this game as a pick ’em in the preseason.  Utah will be rocking for this game so take the Utes with the points.
