Who’s going to the college football version of the Final Four? Will the a non-conference champion be invited again this year?
We know the Power 5 conferences (ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Pac-12 and SEC) have been the only teams to play for the national championship since the playoff started.
Could an undefeated team from the Group of 5 conferences get an invite this year? Ohio and USF we predict to run the table but won’t have the strength of schedule to get in over a one loss team from a Power 5 conference.
Semi-Final #1 Match-up
(1) Alabama vs. (4) Washington
A rematch of last year’s semi-final. The Tide will lock down the top seed with a perfect season. Washington edges USC in the Pac-12 to come in with one loss and a better team than last year. Look for this game to be more competitive than last year’s Alabama win.
Semi-Final #2 Match-up
(2) Ohio State vs. (3) Florida State
This should become a shootout. Both teams have dual threat QB’s who should take turns leading his team up and down the field.
Florida State’s defense playmakers will make the difference down the stretch.
National Championship Game
Alabama vs. Florida State
These two kick the season off and will end it against one another for the title. Again it should be a high scoring game with all the offensive playmakers on the field.
This should be similar to Bama’s past two title games that come down to final possessions. Look for Jalen Hurts to lead his Crimson Tide to the national championship in his sophomore season.
