Saturday ended the undefeated run of many and shakes up our rankings as we have a new #1 this week in our week 7 college football rankings! With conference play underway we’re getting a better feel for the contenders and pretenders in every conference.

College Football Playoff Predictions
If the 2023-24 College Football Playoff were this weekend, here’s the line-up:
- #1 Florida St vs. #4 Michigan – Michigan’s defense is locking down the competition but it needs to step up the competition. Florida State has the best wins of the four so far but they’re lacking the high profile games they might need down the stretch to hold onto the top spot.
- #2 Oklahoma vs. #3 Georgia – Georgia sent a statement with a dominating performance over Kentucky yesterday. They just don’t have a win equivalent to OU’s win over Texas so they’ll have to play this one out as the lower seed for now.
Heisman Trophy Rankings
- Caleb Williams (QB – USC) – he again has to win a shootout but the comeback against Arizona Saturday night keeps him at the top.
- Michael Penix (QB – Washington) – an off week but still sits just 1 yard shy of 2000 passing yards
- Dillon Gabriel (QB – Oklahoma) – Huge drive at the end of the game to lead his Sooners to a win in the Red River Rivalry wrecking Texas’ undefeated season. 16 touchdowns to 2 interceptions and an offense that should rack up points the remainder of the season.
- Carson Beck (QB – Florida State) – had a coming out party in the blowout win against Kentucky Saturday. Completing 73.5% on passes and 1,886 yards for the undefeated Bulldogs.
- Mohamed Kamara (DE – Colorado State) – leads the nation with 9.5 sacks in just 5 games. He’s a menace on defense and deserves some recognition as one of the best players in college football.
