5 NBA Players Who Must be Traded Now

The NBA season is half over and some teams need to make moves.  Here are 5 players that need to be dealt by the deadline:

1.  Dwight Howard (Lakers) – He simply doesn’t fit with the Lakers and is a free agent at the end of the year.  If rumors are true, there’s no way he’ll resign if Kobe Bryant is still there so he’s gotta go as Kobe is retiring a Laker.  He needs to be put with a great point guard who can get him some easy shots.

Potential Landing Spots:
Dallas Mavericks
Houston Rockets
Minnesota Timberwolves

2. DeMarcus Cousins (Kings) – Cousins has had a tumultuous career in Sac town yet has that All-Star potential.  Some nights he looks like an elite NBA power forward while others he looks like he is disinterested.  A fresh start may do him well especially if he can get a veteran mentor.

Potential Landing Spots:

Boston Celtics
Orlando Magic
Denver Nuggets

3.  Andrea Bargnani (Raptors) – injury and lack of defensive prowess have made him expendable.  He’s been a bust in Toronto but shows potential and if put in the right scenario could be a solid contributor for a contender off the bench.

Potential Landing Spots:

Denver Nuggets
Los Angeles Lakers
Indiana Pacers

4.  Pau Gasol (Lakers) – Apparently Mike D’Antoni doesn’t want to play him so he needs to get moved.  Gasol would fit with D’Antoni especially if Howard is out.  Doesn’t look like that’s going to be an option in LA though.

Potential Landing Spots:

Cleveland Cavaliers
Atlanta Hawks
Toronto Raptors

5.  Josh Smith (Hawks) – His recent suspension has him on the trade wire.  He’s a guy who’s got a lot of talent but is better off as a second option for a team.  The Hawks aren’t going to contend in the East and a move could be in the best interest of both.

Potential Landing Spots:

Los Angeles Lakers
Dallas Mavericks
Houston Rockets
