Welcome to the history of the Formulator Bowl brought to you by SportsFormulator. Bowl season has always been a highlight of the sports calendar and adding a bowl to the line-up was our mission. When Louisiana Tech and Middle Tennessee State were left out of the bowls in 2012, we knew we had to create a bowl for them!
The SportsFormulator.com Bowl was born and “played” on December 30, 2012. Some years we take traditionally bowl eligible teams that weren’t selected by other bowls, while other years we took teams that weren’t bowl eligible and were able to create match-ups with big name programs in college football.
Along the way, we decided to rebrand the bowl as Formulator Bowl. And in 2018, we decided to “play” the Formulator Bowl on the same day every year, December 31.
2020 provided a wild season and led to us having a match-up that you could see in the Rose Bowl. With many of the “brand names” in college football struggling in the past few seasons, we’ve been able to have big name match-ups.
