Matt’s Mind – ATS Plays for NBA Playoffs (April 21, 2013)

1-2-1 to start with my picks which is disappointing.  Memphis has to get offense off the bench.  They got within 1 at 77-76 in the fourth and then the Clippers just dominated the rest of the game.  Here’s to hoping today’s better as I’ve got a common theme for all of today’s action.

Atlanta Hawks at Indiana Pacers

Neither team is playing great coming into this series.  The Pacers though are a strong home team while the Hawks can struggle on the road.  I think the Pacers defense stifles the Hawks offense and makes the total the play.

The Play:  Under 185.5

Los Angeles Lakers at San Antonio Spurs

This is the most interesting game of the day.  The Lakers have played well without Kobe and if Steve Nash can return and be effective they can challenge the Spurs.  Tony Parker struggled against the Lakers in their last meeting so he’ll be the key today.  I think he has a solid game for the Spurs and they win but the spread here is one I’d stay away from today.  The total is the play here.

The Play:  Under 189.5

Milwaukee Bucks at Miami Heat

The Bucks have been talking some trash to the Heat and the Heat haven’t seemed to just let it slide off their back.  I think the Heat might send a message in this game and lock the Bucks down.  When you think of Miami, many people think of the offense the Big 3 can provide.  However, the Heat play outstanding defense.  Look for that to be the story of this game.

The Play:  Under 198

Houston Rockets at Oklahoma City Thunder

This should be a very fast paced game.  These teams can get up and down the floor.  Two of the highest scoring teams in the league collide for what should be a brief but entertaining series.  I think the total is inflated here so I’d play the Under here also.

The Play:  Under 213

Good luck today!
