Matt’s Mind – ATS Plays for NBA Playoffs (April 27, 2013)

Well at least I got one yesterday putting me at 9-12-1 (43%).  I’m feeling good about today and think it’s going to be a winner.  I’m giving more than just one pick on some games.  Let’s just get to the picks.

Brooklyn Nets at Chicago Bulls

The Bulls defense is stifling the Nets and I expect it to be the same today.  I think the Nets will have trouble breaking 80 again so play the total.  The Bulls know they’ve got a chance to put the Nets on the ropes today and will do so with another great defensive performance.

The Play:  Under 177 and Bulls -2.5

Los Angeles Clippers at Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies will play the deliberate style they’re known for and frustrate the Clips again.  The Clippers need to try to get the Grizz in foul trouble because they have a clear advantage off the bench.  I think it’s more of the Grizz smother the Clips on defense and getting them the win.

The Play:  Under 177

Indiana Pacers at Atlanta Hawks

This is the toughest game to predict of the day.  The Hawks haven’t looked good in this series but they typically play better at home.  I think they’ll be ready to go but I think the Pacers are just better and want it more.

The Play:  Pacers +2.5

Oklahoma City Thunder at Houston Rockets

Shocking news yesterday that Russell Westbrook is injured and needs surgery.  They won’t know how long he’s out until the surgery is over so the Thunder are in limbo.  That dropped the total on this game 5.5 points.  I don’t think the offense is where the Thunder will miss him most.  I think the Thunder rally together to get this win and put the Rockets on the edge of elimination.

The Play:  Over 206 and Thunder -1
