There are simple steps to cut down your potential picks for your NFL survivor pool. Follow the strategy below to make your week 11 NFL Survivor Pool pick.
Finished 2018 with 5 straight wins and off to a 8-2 start in 2019 as we dropped last week’s game with the stunning Saints loss at home to Falcons where they couldn’t even put double digits on the scoreboard.
We have 14 games in NFL week 11 so that’s our list to start.
Eliminate Toss-Up Winners
First, I eliminate toss-up games. That means I’m scratching the 1 point winners out of the list.
There aren’t any predicted 1 point winners this week so we’re still at 14 teams for our week 11 NFL Survivor Pool Pick.
Eliminate Road Winners
Then I eliminate road teams. When you need a guaranteed win like you do to win your survivor pool, go with a home team.
Six predicted road winners in week 11 so we’re slicing our list to 8 remaining candidates for our NFL Survivor Pool Pick this week. Gone are the Steelers, Bills, Cowboys, Saints, Patriots, Patriots and Chiefs.
Eliminate Low Ranking Winners
Next, I look for teams that aren’t in our top 20 of the power rankings.
This knocks out two teams from consideration for our week 11 NFL survivor pool pick as the Redskins are ranked too low for consideration. We’re down to 7 teams.
Eliminate Winners Playing Good Teams
Finally, I look for our predicted winners that are playing teams ranked in the top 16 of our data driven NFL power rankings and take them out of consideration.
This eliminates the Baltimore Ravens against the Houston Texans.

Final Week 11 NFL Survivor Pool Pick Candidates
Surviving the NFL week 11 cut are:
- Carolina Panthers
- Minnesota Vikings
- Indianapolis Colts
- San Francisco 49ers
- Oakland Raiders
- Los Angeles Rams
I then compare this list against who I’ve already used this season. That list includes Seahawks, Ravens, Cowboys, Colts, Eagles, Patriots, Bills, Vikings and Saints.
6 – Indianapolis Colts – Jacoby Brissett will be back for the Colts but it’s a divisional game against the Jags so I’m passing on this game as my week 11 NFL survivor pick.
5 – Carolina Panthers – Another divisional games as the Panthers host NFC South foe Atlanta. Could the Falcons pull off two big road upsets in a row? I’m not gonna risk it.
4 – San Francisco 49ers – Yet another week 11 divisional game. I worry about the 49ers going through the motions. They’re coming off their first loss of the season on a short week. How do they respond? Better choices left on the board.
3 – Los Angeles Rams – It’s now or never for the Rams. It’s looking like they need to win out to make the playoffs so that starts Sunday night against the Bears.
2 – Minnesota Vikings – The Vikes come off a big road win in Dallas. The Broncos just aren’t very good. This could be a letdown so I’ll choose another team for this week’s pick.
1 – Oakland Raiders – The Raiders are surprisingly much better than I expected this season. The Bengals are a disaster. There’s no way they go to Oakland and win this week. Roll with the Raiders.
