Week 13 NFL Survivor Pool Picks
It took a comeback but the Colts survived and I’m back to .500 in this disappointing NFL survivor pool pick season.
I want you to survive your eliminator pool this NFL season so I’m giving you my free survivor pool strategy all season. After 15-2 last season, it’s a 6-6 record for this season. My survivor pool picks are based upon our data driven NFL predictions and power rankings.

Survivor Pool Pick Strategy:
There are easy steps to cut down your potential pick for your NFL survivor pool. Follow the strategy below to make week 13 NFL Survivor Pool picks. The Chiefs and Rams are on a bye week.
Eliminate the Teams Already Picked in 2018
We eliminate the four teams I’ve already picked including the Lions (week 1), Redskins (week 2), Vikings (week 3), Jaguars (week 4), Panthers (week 5), Packers (week 6), Eagles (week 7), Bears (week 8), Cowboys (week 9), Chiefs (week 10), Chargers (week 11) and Colts (week 12).
The Bears, Chiefs, Colts, Eagles, Packers and Panthers are all predicted week 13 winners so they’re eliminated from contention off the bat. We cut from 16 to 10 teams to consider in NFL week 13.
Eliminate Toss-Up Winners
Next, I eliminate toss-up games. That means we’re cutting the 1 point winners out of the list. This week the Pittsburgh Steelers are predicted one point winners so we’re down to nine teams remaining for our NFL week 13 survivor pool pick.
Eliminate Road Winners
Then we eliminate road teams. I don’t like taking road teams to win in the NFL at all. Just too risky when you need a win, go with a home team.
Eliminating predicted road winners, the Broncos, Rams, Ravens and Saints are predicted road winners this week so they’re out of consideration for our week 13 NFL Survivor Pool Pick leaving five teams.
Eliminate Low Ranking Winners
Next, I look for teams that aren’t in our 20 of the power rankings. This eliminates #21 Miami Dolphins. We’re down to four teams, the Patriots, Seahawks, Texans and Titans as potential week 13 NFL survivor pool picks.
Eliminate Winners Playing Good Teams
Then, I look for our predicted winners that are playing teams ranked in the top 16 and take them out of consideration. The Patriots are playing #13 Minnesota Vikings so they’re out this week. We have three teams to consider for my week 13 NFL Survivor Pool Pick.
Final Week 13 NFL Survivor Pool Pick Candidate
After cutting down our list of potential NFL Survivor Pool Picks for week 13, three teams remain, the Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans. I’ll rank them in order of confidence.
3 – Seattle Seahawks – This is one of those divisional match-ups I tend to stay away from in survivor pool picks. Familiarity can make these games close or lead to upsets so even though I think the Seahawks win comfortably, I’m going with another pick this week.
2 – Houston Texans – 8 straight wins for the Texans. They’re playing a Browns team that comes in with its own confidence. The Texans should win but I like another match-up more than this one.
1 – Tennessee Titans – Tennessee is off of a short week having lost in Houston on Monday night. I like them to bounce back against a Jets team that’s just playing out the string now. Take the Tennessee Titans to survive NFL Week 13.
