We want you to survive your eliminator pool this NFL season so we’re giving our free survivor pool strategy all season. Our picks are based upon our data driven NFL predictions and power rankings.
Survivor Pool Pick Strategy:
There are four steps to easily cut down your potential pick for your NFL survivor pool.
Eliminate the Teams We’ve Already Picked in 2017
We picked and survived week 1 (Bills) and week 2 (Raiders) so they are off the list and we have final candidates for our week 3 NFL Survivor Pool Pick. Both are predicted winners this week so our list is shortened to 14 tams.
Eliminate Toss-Up Winners
Next, we eliminate toss-up games. That means we’re cutting the 1 point winners out of the list. Gone are the Ravens, Steelers, Dolphins, Panthers, Chiefs and Cardinals. Our list of 16 NFL week 3 winners is cut down to 8.
Eliminate Road Winners
Next we eliminate road teams. I don’t like taking road teams to win in the NFL at all. Just too risky when you need a win, go with a home team.
Eliminating predicted road winners, only knocks the Falcons (at Lions) from consideration leaving us with 7 teams.
Eliminate Low Ranking Winners
Next, I look for team that aren’t in our 20 of the power rankings. The Colts (30) and 49ers (28) are out of consideration. Five teams remain.
Eliminate Winners Playing Good Teams
Then, I look for our predicted winners that are playing teams ranked in the top 16 and take them out of consideration. This eliminates the Vikings (against Bucs) and Titans (against Seahawks). Three teams are our final three survivor pool pick candidates.
Final Survivor Pool Pick Candidates
3 – Philadelphia Eagles – The Eagles have played well so far beating the Redskins week 1 and being competitive in Kansas City losing by 7 to the Chiefs last Sunday. They play the Giants this week who after a disappointing performance on Monday night should play inspired football after an 0-2 start. Look for this game to be close and the Eagles our least confident survivor pool pick for week 3.
2 – New England Patriots – The Pats’ offense looked back on track but Gronk is injured. The Texans offense is much better with Deshaun Watson at QB. Their defense is solid and should keep this game close.
1 – Green Bay Packers – This is a potential blowout on Sunday. The Pack host the struggling Bengals who’ve yet to put up a TD this season. The Bengals played on Thursday night last week so they’re rest and prepared but the Packers should put up points and the Bengals won’t be able to match it. Take the Packers to survive NFL week 3.
