NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 6 – 2017

We want you to survive your eliminator pool this NFL season so we’re giving our free survivor pool strategy all season. Our picks are based upon our data driven NFL predictions and power rankings.

Survivor Pool Pick Strategy:

There are four steps to easily cut down your potential pick for your NFL survivor pool.

Eliminate the Teams We’ve Already Picked in 2017

We’re 5-0 this season having taken the Bills (week 1), Raiders (week 2),  Packers (week 3), Seahawks (week 4) and Eagles (week 5). Only of those teams, the Raiders, are predicted to win this week so they’re out our of group of 14 week 6 winners.

Eliminate Toss-Up Winners

First we eliminate toss-up games.  That means we’re cutting the 1 point winners out of the list.  We don’t have any 1 point predictions this week so we’re still at 13 teams remaining.

Eliminate Road Winners

Next we eliminate road teams.  I don’t like taking road teams to win in the NFL at all.  Just too risky when you need a win, go with a home team.

Eliminating predicted road winners, the Patriots and Colts are out of consideration giving us 11 teams left.

Eliminate Low Ranking Winners

Next, I look for team that aren’t in our 20 of the power rankings.  This eliminates the Cardinals.  10 teams are left to consider for our week 6 NFL Survivor Pool Pick.

Eliminate Winners Playing Good Teams

Then, I look for our predicted winners that are playing teams ranked in the top 16 and take them out of consideration.  This eliminates the Chiefs, Panthers, Vikings, Saints and Jaguars.  The list is down to five.

Final  Survivor Pool Pick Candidates

5 – Ravens – Baltimore hosts the Bears this week.  The Ravens are so up and down, it makes them hard to trust.  While this game isn’t projected to be close, we don’t trust the Ravens enough to give them any consideration for this week’s pick.

4 – Redskins – The 49ers keep hanging in games.  They’re going to win one of them soon.  Is this the week?  The Redskins are good but can’t overlook San Fran.  Kirk Cousins wins this game but look for it to be close.

3 – Texans – The Texans are banged up on defense.  Luckily for them, they play the Browns.  At home, Houston should be able to let Deshaun Watson get in rhythm and put up points.  The Browns won’t be able to keep up.

2 – Broncos – The Broncos are a good home team but welcome a desperate, winless Giants team.  Without OBJ, the Giants offense will struggles against the Broncos.  The Broncos are a solid pick for this week two but you’ve always got to be wary of a desperate team like the Giants throwing out all the stops to get a win.

1 – Falcons – The  Falcons come off a bye whereas the Dolphins come in to this game off a week dominated by scandal.  Their O-line coach resigned in disgrace this week.  The Falcons at home against a team that struggles to score to become a blowout.  Take the Falcons to survive NFL Week 6.
