Week 3 NFL Predictions – 2015

SFpageheader

NFL week 3 is here!  It’s a must win week for a few teams that are still looking for their first win of the season including the Seahawks and Colts.

We’ve run our predictive formula for every game and have predicted scores for all 16 games in NFL week 3.  Our totals last week went an outstanding 12-3-1!

Ranking and previewing NFL Week 3 games based upon our power rankings:

16.   Bucs at Texans – The Texans need to figure out their QB situation.  They started Hoyer week 1 and Mallett week 2.  Neither has impressed.  The Bucs have their top pick Jameis Winston as their signal caller and he faces the fearsome JJ Watt this weekend.

15.  Colts at Titans – The Colts are in a must win situation.  At 0-2, they’re in risk of falling further behind in the division.  Marcus Mariota needs to play more like week 1 than week 2 for the Titans to win.

14.  Raiders at Browns – Johnny Manziel had a great week 2 performance to get the Browns a W.  The Raiders surprised the Ravens to get their first win of the season.  The Browns are looking to put Josh McCown back under center.  Will that get them a win?

13.  Saints at Panthers – Drew Brees is injured and his status for Sunday is undertermined right now.  He’s facing a good Panthers defense that’ll look to knock him around.  Cam Newton is making the plays to get the Panthers win.  Look for that to continue Sunday.

12.  Bears at Seahawks – Neither team has played great to start the year.  The Bears are playing like a team that’ll have a top 5 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.  The Seahawks could take out the frustation of a 0-2 start on the Bears this weekend.  It could get ugly in Seattle.

11.  Redskins at Giants (Thursday Night Football) – These two played on Thursday night last year in Washington and the Giants won in a blowout.  The Redskins look to be playing better as they had an impressive win over St. Louis on Sunday and were competitive against the Dolphins in week 1.

10.  Eagles at Jets – The Eagles come off a tough week 2 game where they didn’t look sharp only putting up 10 points against the Cowboys.  The go to the 2-0 Jets who are playing great defense.  Not a good combo for the Eagles.

9.  Broncos at Lions – The Broncos got five turnovers in Kansas City last week and capitalized by returning the last one for the gaming winning TD.  Their defense is playing well while the offense has been unsteady.  The Lions have been out of sync their first two games.  The national tv stage on Sunday night may wake them up but look for the Broncos defense to make the difference again.

8.  Bills at Dolphins – Both teams are coming off of disappointing week 2 losses.  The Bills put everything into beating the Patriots last week but fell short while the Dolphins lost to the Jaguars.  Both teams need to focus on week 3 to hang around in the AFC East race with the Pats and Jets starting 2-0.

7.  Chargers at Vikings – Very intriguing game.  The Vikings looked awful in week 1 but bounced back with a sound win over the Lions.  The Chargers beat the Lions week 1 and dropped a tough game in Cincinnati last Sunday.  Look for Phillip Rivers to outduel Teddy Bridgewater this week.

6.  Jaguars at Patriots – The Pats come off a road win in Buffalo while the Jags beat the Dolphins last Sunday.  The Jags could hang around in this one but the Patriots aren’t gonna lose this at home.

5.  49ers at Cardinals – Carson Palmer had to look at the tape of Ben Roethlisberger throwing all over the 49ers last week and get excited for this game.  The Cardinals are off to a good start and look to jump to 3-0.  The 49ers will need their defense to take a big step forward from last week to keep this one competitive.

4.  Steelers at Rams – The Rams struggled in Washington while the Steelers blew out the 49ers last Sunday.  The Rams needs to get the offense back on track to hang with the Steelers.  Look for Big Ben to keep connecting with Antonio Brown this week and win.

3.  Falcons at Cowboys – With Tony Romo out, the Cowboys look to Brandon Weeden to lead them for the next couple of months.  The Falcons are off to a 2-0 start and head back on the road to the NFC East after winning at the Giants last Sunday.  The Cowboys defense will need to step up and help up offense to get a win this weekend.

2.  Bengals at Ravens – The Ravens lost in Oakland last week while the Bengals had a convincing week 1 win over the Raiders.  The Ravens go home and look to beat their division rival.  The Bengals are gonna be tough to beat and look for this game to go to the wire.

1.  Chiefs at Packers (Monday Night Football) – The Packers have played great to start the year.  KC had a strong start with an impressive win in Houston week 1 before five turnovers cost them a game against Denver last Thursday night.  Aaron Rodgers is gonna feel the heat of the Chiefs ferocious pass rush but should make enough plays to get the Packers to 3-0.
