Who Wins the 2013 Stanley Cup?

We’re finally here. After weeks of playoff hockey we finally have our two conferences winners.

Each of them in a way are lucky to be here. The Chicago Blackhawks fell behind the Detroit Red Wings 3-1 in the conference semifinal before rattling three straight victories. The Boston Bruins were down 3-1 to the Toronto Maple Leafs after the first four first round games. Boston would go on to win three straight including a Game 7 classic that will go down in Boston lore. Toronto fans are most likely already haunted by their Game 7 collapse in the 3rd period.

Each squad had dominant conference finals performances. The Los Angeles Kings didn’t have an answer for the Blackhawks while the Bruins bullied the Pittsburgh Penguins out of the rink in four games. Each series had so much promise and neither one ended up being close to competitive.

I believe Boston goalie Tuukka Rask will get the best of Chicago goalie Corey Crawford. Rask shut down one of the most potent offenses in the NHL when he stoned the Penguins. Brad Marchand and the rest of the Bruins will bully the Blackhawks out of this series. The Bruins will win their second Stanley Cup in three years.

Prediction: Bruins in 6
