Week 9 College Football Power Rankings

Week 8 is in the books so it’s time to analyze all 130 FBS college football teams and publish our data driven week college football power rankings. In addition, we give you our Heisman Trophy and College Football Playoff Rankings.

The Tua injury throws a lot in limbo for the rest of the season. How long will the Alabama QB be out? With the biggest game of the 2019 college football season not far away as Bama hosts LSU, will he be back under center by that game?

College Football Playoff Rankings – Week 9

If the College Football Playoff were to happen this week, this would be the Final Four:

1. LSU vs. 4. Oklahoma
2. Ohio State vs. 3. Clemson

Until we know the severity of the injury, I’m going with the Bayou Bengals as the team to come out of the SEC. They have the best wins this season.

Heisman Tropy Rankings – Week 9

I don’t have a Heisman ballot but if I did, my ballot this week would like like this:

1. Joe Borrow (QB – LSU) – Week after week he’s putting up big numbers in big games. The Heisman is his to win if he can lead LSU to a win at Alabama in a few weeks.
2. Justin Fields (QB – Ohio State) – Putting up huge numbers for an offense that has look unstoppable. His showcase game will be November 23 when the Buckeyes host Penn State. A huge day there gets him invited to New York and might get his name called.
3. Jalen Hurts (QB – Oklahoma) – Keeps making big plays week after week but he’s falling off of the radar due to a lack of big games. The Baylor game may draw some headlines if the Bears are still undefeated when the Sooners come to town.
