We crossover from strictly sports here on the site to “sports entertainment”. Wrestlemania 29 is today and while I haven’t been a wrestling fan for years but when I saw this Friday I wanted to share it with you. WWE is at Met Life Stadium today for their biggest annual event Wrestlemania and have constructed the best set I’ve ever seen for a sporting event. Take a look at the video below as Vince McMahon reveals the amazing set.
I was suprised to see sportsbooks are offering odds on Wrestlemania 29 but if you want to bet on prearranged matches here are my picks for tonight’s big event:
Rhodes Scholars & Bella Twins vs. Tons of Funk & Funkadactyls
A match that’s just for sheer entertainment value. Expect it to be funky.
The Pick: Tons of Funk & Funkadactyls
Fandango vs. Chris Jericho
A tough one to see who will get a push out of mania but I expect Jericho to have to lay down in this one.
The Pick: Fandango
Team Hell No vs. Ziggler & Langston
Team Hell No could break up at the end of the night so take the other side in this one.
The Pick: Ziggler & Langston
Wade Barrett vs. The Miz
I expect The Miz to get the win but this is one that looks like it could go either way.
The Pick: The Miz
Ryback vs. Mark Henry
Mark Henry has no chance in this battle of behemoths.
The Pick: Ryback
Randy Orton, Sheamus & Big Show vs. The Shield
The Shield hasn’t tasted WWE defeat and it doesn’t look like it’ll happen today. Expect a break up amonst Orton, Sheamus and Show setting up a Summerslam match.
The Pick: The Shield
Alberto Del Rio vs. Jack Swagger
Del Rio’s star is continuing to rise and while Swagger is getting a big of a push to get this match, Del Rio will win to setup a bigger match for him at Summerslam.
The Pick: Alberto Del Rio
Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar
This is a match that’s played up the personal angle involving Triple H’s wife Stephanie McMahon. If Triple H loses his WWE career ends and the legend of Lesnar grows. I expect Triple H to win in a match that should be great to watch with some really high impact moves between these two.

The Undertaker vs. CM Punk
The Undertaker is undefeated at Wrestlemania…for decades. CM Punk’s star has fallen slightly and the ‘Taker looks to take more of it tonight. The streak continues as the Undertaker gets revenge for the late Paul Bearer.
The Pick: The Undertaker
The Rock vs. John Cena
Two of the biggest WWE stars of the past decade and perhaps all time collide in a rematch of last year’s Wrestlemania 28 Main Event. Cena dropped the strap to The Rock there but will regain it today.
The Pick: John Cena
Enjoy the show! WWE knows how to put on spectacular events so it should be 4 hours of entertainment.
